New Issue of PW out now…
The summer issue of Poetry Wales, the first from new editor Zoë Skoulding, is out now!
As well as Zoë's first editorial, it features articles by Matthew Jarvis on alternative poetries of Wales, Harry Gilonis on his highly individual version of the Canu Heledd, Wendy Mulford on the poetry of John James, and Tiffany Atkinson delving into the nature of poetic creation or 'late-night grappling with the impossible'. There are reviews from Tim Liardet, Robyn Marsack, Carrie Etter and Peter Finch, and poems by Damian Walford Davies, David Annwn, Deryn Rees Jones and Samantha Wynne Rhydderch, as well as a poem from Steve Griffiths dedicated to outgoing editor Robert Minhinnick.
This issue of Poetry Wales will be launched at the following events:
July 8: 6pm, Aberystwyth Arts Centre Bookshop. Zoë Skoulding introduces readings by a range of contributors to the issue including Damian Walford-Davies, John Barnie, Samantha Wynne-Rhydderch, Lyndon Davies, Tiffany Atkinson, Richard Marggraf-Turley, Patrick McGuinness and more.
July 16-19: Stirling University. Poetry and Translation Conference.
August 13: 7.30pm, Fisher Theatre, Bungay, Suffolk.
August 25-31: Medana Festival, Slovenia.
