Davies, Geraint Talfan
Geraint Talfan Davies has been at the centre of Welsh cultural life – in both languages – for over thirty years. He was a newspaper journalist, and a senior executive in ITV, BBC and the arts before becoming the embattled Chairman of the Arts Council of Wales. He is currently chairman of Welsh National Opera and the Institute of Welsh Affairs.
Davies, Grahame
Grahame Davies was born in Wrexham but lives now in Cardiff where he works for the BBC. The Welsh language editor of Poetry Wales, he has published a prize-winning collection of poems, Adennill Tir and Sefyll yn y Bwlch, a volume of criticism.
Davies, James A.
James A Davies is a former lecturer in English at University of Wales, Swansea. He has written extensively on writing in wales, particularly on Dylan Thomas.
Davies, John
Born in 1944, John Davies was brought up in Port Talbot, south Wales, and in Prestatyn where he taught English. He has also taught in Michigan and Washington. In 1986 The Visitor's Book, his third collection, was joint winner of the Poetry Society's major award, the Alice Hunt Bartlett Prize. John Davies is also a talented wood carver. Davies, Rhys
Rhys Davies (1903-1978) was an important and prolific novelist and writer. A friend of D.H. Lawrence, his fiction is notable for its strong women characters and exploration of human emotion.

Stevie Davies is a novelist and critic of great repute, with books on Milton, Donne, Shakespeare, Virginia Woolf and Emily Bronte. Her novels include Primavera and Impassioned Clay.
Davies, Tim
One of the most exciting artists working in Britain today, Tim Davies was born in Haverforwest in 1960, and has exhibited widely in the UK and abroad, including shows in Australia, Mexico, Hong Kong, Belize, Ireland, Estonia, Poland and Croatia.
Davis, Ellen
Ellen Davis was born in Germany in 1929. Evacuated to Britain on the Kinderstransport, she was adopted by a Swansea couple, and still lives in the city. She has given many interviews about her experiences and is a regular public speaker.
Digby, John
Born in London, John Digby has worked for many years in the United States. A poet and artist, he specialises in pure paper collages.
Donovan, Maria
Originally from west Dorset, author Maria Donovan is a former nurse, gardener and magician’s assistant who lived in Holland for ten years before coming home (by moped) to concentrate on her writing. She lived in Cardiff while studying at the University of Glamorgan (Pontypridd) where she gained an honours degree in English Studies and an MPhil in Writing. She now lives on a smallholding in West Wales.
